Hassan Hmeid promotes classic antisemitic stereotypes portraying Jews as secretly controlling society, infiltrating institutions, and being inherently greedy and usurious.

Official PA daily regular columnist from Syria Hassan Hmeid: "There is a kind of selfishness in them [the Jews], thinking they control the entire world. If you go to New York... they control everything, from a small shop to a shoemaker sitting in a one-square-meter space. They control it, not to mention publishing houses and movies, etc.They infiltrate deeply… Until now, the Western European countries, which were supposed to heed what [authors] Goethe and Charles Dickens said, all these people (i.e., the authors) spoke about the Jews. They [Europeans] need to see them and recognize them. They [the authors] said these [Jews] are children, when these children grow up, they will be crueler. They [Europeans] need to read their uncle Shakespeare, of whom we are proud. What did he say? He spoke about their [the Jews'] prominent trait, which is usury."
