Europeans gave the Jews Palestine in order to get rid of the Jews – Palestinian academic
This portrays the Balfour Declaration as a European scheme to get rid of Jews, erasing Jewish national ties to the land and recasting Zionism as a foreign dumping project.
Palestinian academic Sa'id Shahin: "The Jews had per se been persecuted – especially during the era of the Russian Empire. This persecution gradually spread to additional states, to Germany, France, Spain, and Britain. Therefore, these states decided to rid themselves of the Jews and of this complication that was a problem for them. So, they created or came up with this solution to give Palestine to the Jews, and it came out in the form of the Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration.)"
