Delegation representing Abbas visits home of prisoner Karim Younes
PA TV’s Good Morning, Jerusalem covered a condolence visit by a presidential delegation representing PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas at the home of Karim Younes whose father had died not long before. The camera focused on a letter written and signed by Abbas. Its greeting was to: “Warrior brother, prisoner Karim Younes.”
Later in the program, Abbas’ advisor Ahmad Al-Ruweidi is seen reading the letter.
Note: Karim Younes - an Israeli Arab serving a 40-year sentence for kidnapping and killing an Israeli soldier in 1980. Originally sentenced to life in prison, but Israeli President Shimon Peres reduced his sentence in 2012.
