PLO: Israel killed Hamas terrorist prisoner with "deliberate neglect"

“Protests broke out in occupied Jerusalem, in West Bank cities and in a few occupation prisons immediately after the announcement of the Martyrdom death (Shahada) of prisoner Maysara Abu Hamdiyeh (64) [parentheses in source] from the city of Hebron, in an Israeli hospital yesterday morning [April 2, 2013]…
The PLO said in an announcement: ‘The fact that the occupation authorities were deliberately neglectful in caring for prisoner Abu Hamdiyeh and did not treat him, constitutes a deliberate crime against humanity and a blatant violation of international law and of article 91 of the Geneva Convention in particular.’ …
On their part, the Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ military wing, said yesterday [April 2, 2013] in an announcement that they eulogize the ‘Qassam Martyr (Shahid), Jihad fighter, Maysara Abu Hamdiyeh.’ They added that Abu Hamdiyeh ‘joined the Al-Qassam [Brigades] when they were first beginning operations, and he had participated in training Jihad fighters since 1989. He worked quietly and diligently to provide Jihad fighters with weapons and explosives and had a part in quality Al-Qassam Brigades operations (i.e., terror attacks) until his final operation following which he was arrested in 2002.’”

Note: Maysara Abu Hamdiyeh was a Hamas member who served life in prison for recruiting and training terrorists, preparing explosives for suicide bombings, attempted murder, and possession of weapons. He died of cancer while being treated at the Israeli Soroka Hospital in April 2013.
