PA TV: Dalal Mughrabi and female suicide bombers are “honored fighters”
PA TV broadcast of an assembly commemorating Prisoners’ Day and the anniversary of Abu Jihad’s death.
Moderator: “Prisoners’ mothers, sisters and wives, welcome to Azzoun, sisters of Wafa Idris, Andalib, and Dalal, welcome, you are the honored fighters.”
Minister of Prisoners’ Affairs, Issa Karake: “Greetings everyone, you wave the Martyrs’ (Shahids) flag and the prisoners’ flag. These days, we don’t celebrate only our anniversaries and pain but we also step forward so that the Martyrs’ dreams and wishes will be fulfilled – the wishes of our Martyr, the hero commander Abu Jihad and Yasser Arafat and all the other Martyrs.”
Note: Wafa Idris – the first Palestinian female suicide bomber. She killed one and injured over 100 in her attack in central Jerusalem in 2002.
Andalib Khalil Muhammad Suleiman or Andalib Takatka – female suicide bomber who killed six and wounded more than 80 in her attack on Jerusalem’s Mahane Yehuda outdoor market in April 2002.
Dalal Mughrabi - led the most lethal terror attack in Israel’s history in 1978, when she and other terrorists hijacked a bus and killed 37 civilians, 12 of them children.
Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir) was a founder of Fatah and deputy to Yasser Arafat. He headed the PLO terror organization's military wing and planned many deadly Fatah terror attacks, including the most lethal in Israeli history, the hijacking of a bus and killing of 37 civilians, 12 of them children.
