Palestinian Ambassador claims Canaanites are ancestors of Palestinians

“Dr. Ahmed Al- Mathbour, Palestine’s Ambassador to Bulgaria thanked the festival’s organizers for hosting the Palestinian group, and said that the group’s members belong to the third generation after the Nakba (i.e., “the catastrophe,” the Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) and adhere to their right, as do the rest of the Palestinian people, to return to their land. Likewise, he noted that the clothes that they wear are original Palestinian clothes, whose origins go back more than 5,000 years, to ‘our Canaanite ancestors.’”
