PA TV host: Terrorist prisoners are "a crown on our heads;" their release is a "national victory"
Special live broadcast on PA TV about the release of 26 Palestinian prisoners.
PA TV host: “Today [Aug. 13, 2013] is the day when 26 prisoners are to be released - 26 of our heroes, who spent the days of their youth and the best [years] of their lives in the occupation’s prison… These prisoners, of whom we are proud and whom we place as a crown on our heads and on the heads of our Palestinian people. We say today that each prisoner release from the occupation’s prison is a distinct national victory.” …
Fatah Revolutionary Council member, Abu Joudeh Al-Nahal: “The Palestinian happiness needs to be made complete with the prisoners’ release. We look forward to the [release] of more prisoners. I’m convinced that the negotiation team will give the names [of those to be released] in the next stage and of who will be released in the [following] stage. It is unthinkable that soon another 25-26 [prisoners] will be released without a hero among them like Karim Younes, a Palestinian from the 1948 [territories] (i.e., Israel), who has served more than 31 years in the occupation’s prison.”
Note: Karim Younes - an Israeli Arab sentenced to life in prison for kidnapping and killing an Israeli soldier in 1980. Israeli President Shimon Peres reduced his sentence in 2012 to 40 years.
