PA announces planned ceremony under Abbas auspices to honor murderers released from prison
“District Governor of Jenin Talal Dweikat chaired a meeting held yesterday [Aug. 13, 2013] to discuss preparations for the district’s official reception to be held in honor of three released prisoners who are residents of the district: Yusuf Arshid, Taher Zayoud, Burhan Sbeih…
Dweikat declared that the district is planning to hold a large welcoming ceremony in honor of these three heroes… under the auspices of President Mahmoud Abbas this coming Sunday… as part of a festival, as befitting their sacrifice.”
Note: Yusuf Arshid – murdered five Palestinians he suspected of collaborating with Israel. He was arrested in 1993 and was serving five life sentences but was released in August 2013 as one of 104 terrorists whom Israel agreed to release to fulfill the PA's precondition for renewing negotiations.
Taher Zayoud – he and two accomplices planned to steal a weapon and shot Avraham Cohen. They found he had no weapon and they left him wounded. Zayoud was arrested in February 1993 and sentenced to 21 years in prison. He was released in August 2013 as one of 104 terrorists whom Israel agreed to release to fulfill the PA's precondition for renewing negotiations.
Burhan Sbeih – murdered five Palestinians he suspected of collaborating with Israel. Was arrested in February 2001 and sentenced to six life sentences and an additional nine years in prison, but was released in August 2013 as one of 104 terrorists whom Israel agreed to release to fulfill the PA's precondition for renewing negotiations.
