PA Minister presents gifts to released prisoners who were involved in terror attacks

Headline: “Karake: ‘We look forward to the release of all prisoners, with no exceptions, as a political, national, and legal right’”

Karake and the accompanying delegation presented gifts to the released prisoners in appreciation.”

The man with Minister Karake in the photo is Mustafa Al-Haj, who murdered Frederick Rosenfeld while he was hiking near the city of Ariel in the West Bank (June 17, 1989). Al-Haj was released in August 2013 as one of 104 terrorists whom Israel agreed to release to fulfill the PA's precondition for renewing negotiations.

Note: Sa’id Al-Ataba was serving a life sentence for being the commander of the military unit that planted explosives in a market in Petah Tiqwa (July 6, 1977). One person was killed and 33 were wounded. He was released in August 2008 as a gesture to the PA after serving 31 years in prison.
Hassan Salama was serving a life sentence for preparing and placing explosives in 1982. In October 2011, Salama was released as part of the Shalit prisoner exchange deal brokered between the Israeli government and Hamas. In that deal, Israel released 1,027 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who had been held hostage by Hamas for more than 5 years.
Othman Musleh Abu Naji was serving a life sentence for placing a bomb and throwing a grenade in 1982. In October 2011, Musleh was released as part of the Shalit prisoner exchange deal brokered between the Israeli government and Hamas. In that deal, Israel released 1,027 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who had been held hostage by Hamas for more than 5 years. than 5 years.
Mustafa Qar'ush was arrested in 1986 and sentenced to life in prison for voluntary manslaughter. Muhannad Jaradat was serving a 20-year sentence. Israel released him in July 2007 as a gesture to the PA after he had served 18 years in prison. PMW has been unable to verify the specific nature his crimes.
