“Luay Abdo, a member of Fatah’s Revolutionary Council, said that he, as a Palestinian Arab, strongly opposes an attack against any Arab or friendly state, and added: ‘The American-Zionist project seeks to destroy Syria, Lebanon and the Palestinian cause, and also Egypt, in cooperation with the Muslim Brotherhood organizations and a number of regimes in the region.’ Abdo said, ‘What is happening [now] is the era of ending the nation-state and opening the way for globalization, which will serve the interests of many states in the region, without considering some [of the people’s] opinions. Abdo said that ‘those who are called Salafi Jihadist and fundamentalist movements are only part of the aggression scheme. Moreover, they are an instrument [acting] from within and even a bridge, for the external aggression.’”
