PA TV News falsely states that Israel carried out a massacre at Sabra and Shatila
PA TV News brief with a report about Sabra and Shatila:
PA TV newsreader: “Today is the 31st anniversary of the Sabra and Shatila massacre, which was committed by the separatist forces (i.e., the Christian Phalangists) and Israel in Lebanon. Our nation still demands that those who planned and perpetrated the massacre be brought to trial. Approximately 3,000 Palestinians died as Martyrs (Shahids) [in the massacre]. The separatist forces and Israel took advantage of the withdrawal of the Palestinian resistance after the invasion of Lebanon in order to commit a heinous massacre against [Palestinian] citizens residing peacefully in the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps.”
Note: Sabra and Shatila are Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. In 1982 during the first Lebanon War, a massacre at Sabra and Shatila was committed against Muslims by Christian phalangists in Lebanon. The PA has a longstanding policy of falsely accusing Israel of committing the massacre or actively helping to carry it out.
