South Vietnamese military leader praised for “making Americans flee like mice”

“General [Vo Nguyen] Giap has died. Hero of Vietnam’s war of independence and the defeat of French colonialism, he later led the war against American involvement in South Vietnam and succeeded in making the Americans flee like mice, with the American ambassador escaping Saigon on a helicopter that landed on top of the embassy…
With the death of the General who defeated two powerful countries without boasting about it, we can only bow out of [our] respect for him, because he alone was able to achieve this double victory with a nation with few capabilities and enormous willpower.”
