26 prisoners thank Abbas for PA grant they received upon release

“The 26 released prisoners who were released in the latest phase of pre-Oslo Accord veteran prisoner [releases] directed their thanks and appreciation to President Mahmoud Abbas and to Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah for the financial grant given to them on the occasion of their release. They all served more than 20 years in the occupation’s prisons…
The released [prisoners] praised the position of the government that continues its work to approve laws and regulations that will do them (the prisoners) justice, and discusses them objectively and responsibly and in a way that guarantees the prisoners’ rights and correlates with the available options. In addition, they said that this [grant] gives them hope.”
Note: In August 2013, Israel agreed to release 104 Palestinian prisoners, which was the PA's precondition for renewing peace talks. Israel agreed to release the prisoners in four stages.
