PA council: Israel’s goal is to make Jerusalem a city for Jews only
“The [PA’s] Islamic-Christian Council for Support of Jerusalem and the Holy Sites warned yesterday [Oct. 31, 2013] about marathon consultations and meetings held by the Israeli government in order to authorize the expansion of the Al-Buraq plaza (i.e., the Western Wall of the Temple Mount plaza) and turn it into a very large synagogue. It said that this plan constitutes a very great and real danger to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in general and the Islamic Al-Buraq plaza in particular. It also noted that Israel continues to desecrate holy sites and harm their sanctity through Judaization and demolition.
The Council’s Secretary-General Hanna Issa said that the Israeli government’s recent meetings about Judaizing the Al-Buraq plaza – after announcing an additional plan to turn an Islamic archeological site near the Al-Aqsa Mosque into a ritual bath to serve the Jewish women who have been invading the Al-Aqsa Mosque recently – are an obvious declaration of harm [aimed at] all sections of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and [the Israeli government’s] insistence on continuing with plans and initiatives to Judaize the holy city. [This will be done] until the goal is achieved and the Jewish dream is fulfilled: Building the alleged Temple on the ruins of Al-Aqsa, gaining complete control of the occupied city and making it a Jewish city for Jews only.”
Note 1: In October 2013, Israeli Parliament Member Aliza Lavie announced she will work to make one of the ancient ritual baths, which was discovered near the Temple Mount, functional so that it will serve women ascending the Temple Mount and female residents of the Jewish Quarter [in the Old City of Jerusalem].
