Israeli Arab MP visits imprisoned terrorists

“[Israeli Arab] Parliament member from Balad [party], Basel Ghattas visited leader-prisoner Marwan Barghouti at the Hadarim prison for the first time two days ago [Nov. 5, 2013]. He met prisoners Karim Younes and Walid Daqqa for the second time as part of his constant care for prisoners’ affairs, [which he does] in order to set them high on the priority list of Palestinian national-political activity.
During his meeting with Barghouti, the details of the international campaign to release him were discussed, as well as ways of translating the campaign’s results into direct pressure on the Israeli government.”
Note: Marwan Barghouti - serving five life sentences for orchestrating terror attacks against Israeli civilians. When arrested in 2002, he headed the Tanzim (Fatah terror faction). After he was convicted and imprisoned, he was re-elected member of the Palestinian Authority parliament.
Karim Younes - an Israeli Arab serving a 40-year sentence for kidnapping and killing an Israeli soldier in 1980. Originally sentenced to life in prison, but Israeli President Shimon Peres reduced his sentence in 2012.
Walid Daqqa - Israeli Arab member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). He is serving a life sentence for being part of the squad that kidnapped and murdered Israeli soldier Moshe Tamam in 1984.
