Hamas official to Fatah: "Have you not grown tired of negotiations?" "Join us… with a Jihad revolution" to establish “the next Islamic Caliphate”
Minister of Interior and National Security in the Hamas government in Gaza, Fathi Hammad: “We look forward to future victories, in which, Allah willing, we will liberate our land, our Jerusalem, our Al-Aqsa [Mosque], our cities and our villages, Allah willing, all this in preparation for establishing the next Islamic Caliphate. Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are at the brink of a period of global Islamic culture, whose fuel is Gaza, whose spearhead is Gaza, its Jihad fighters (Mujahideen) and commanders are Gaza, Allah willing…
I am sending a message to our brothers in Fatah: Have you not grown tired of negotiations? Have you not despaired of an enemy who is determined to humiliate our people at every stage? Have you not despaired after 20 years of negotiations? When you all agree and are led by a group that negotiates (does not complete sentence). How many people call Dr. Muhammad Shtayyeh (member of the PLO negotiating team, -Ed.) and any negotiator [and ask]: ‘What’s new with the negotiations?’ They tell them: ‘[It’s] tired, standing still, we sit with the Jews, we talk about this and that and that’s all.’ Well, enough! Come join us – the armies of believers who translated the Quran into victory and translated the Prophet’s tradition into valor and translated Jihad into liberation, Allah willing. Therefore, we say to you, with all our heart, come to us so that we will train you anew, so we will reorganize your faith, so [we will] rebuild your thinking. We are the Prophet’s pupils, the Caliphs’ pupils and we are the pupils of the respected leaders throughout history…
We come with a third Intifada, with an armed revolution, with a Jihad revolution, Allah willing. Gaza and the [West] Bank will unite with our brothers from the Interior, the 1948 territories (i.e., Israel) in the second Hattin battle, to uproot the Jews. We are coming.”
Note: In the Battle of Hattin (July 1187), Muslim warrior Saladin defeated the Christian Crusaders. The battle took place in the Lower Galilee in what is today Israel and paved the way for the Muslim reconquest of the city of Jerusalem (October 1187).
