PLO official: PA to bring Israel to international court after prisoners are released and negotiations end
“[PLO Executive Committee member and Secretary-General of the Palestinian Liberation Front Wasel] Abu Yusuf said that that PLO ascribes special importance to the prisoners’ issue and has made it a top priority. Regarding an appeal to the UN and joining international organizations, he said that the idea now is to wait for the release of the remaining groups of veteran prisoners who were arrested before the Oslo [Accords], and that the matter is seriously on the agenda, to demand that Israel account for its crimes in international courts.”
Note: In August 2013, Israel agreed to release 104 Palestinian terrorists from prison, which was the PA's precondition for renewing peace talks. The terrorists were released in stages. The first group of 26 was released on Aug. 13, 2013. The second group of 26 was released on Oct. 30, 2013. The third group of 26 was released on December 30, 2013.
