PA TV lecturer: "The Martyr [is]... an essential necessity in society"
PA TV program Pulse of the Land broadcast a lecture on the philosophical meaning of Martyrdom (Shahada) given at the El-Bireh Municipality.
Social science researcher Khaled Awad Allah: “First of all, loyalty to Martyrs (Shahids), in the true sense of the word ‘loyalty’, [is] far removed from the institutionalized use of the [word] ‘Martyr’ and from the scientific and academic use of the word ‘Martyr,’ and [we need to] reexamine the Martyr as a living value and an essential necessity in society, in any society attempting to liberate [itself] or to create a future in which its citizens, meaning its individuals, will live free.”
