PA Ministry of Information celebrates anniversary of Stone Intifada and promotes "recreating the sights" seen at that time
Headline: “[PA] Ministry of Information: ‘The Stone Intifada paved the road to freedom’”
“The [PA] Ministry of Information marked the 26th anniversary of the Stone Intifada (i.e., the first Palestinian wave of violence against Israel, 1988-1993)… the Ministry stated that the popular Intifada began in the course of our people’s journey of freedom, in its passing through the history of its struggle and its consecutive Intifadas that paved the way to freedom, salvation and extracting the legitimate rights. Likewise, it [the Ministry] asserted that the Stone Intifada was a heroic epic in which the Palestinian people exhibited the most spectacular examples of resolve, giving, cohesion and national unity… The Ministry believes that this anniversary provides an opportunity to sue the occupation for its crimes, and contributes to strengthening national unity for the sake of recreating the sights [seen] during the eruption of the popular Intifada.”
