Teachers, like arch-terrorists, are "exalted examples of sacrifice and bravery"
Official PA TV Live broadcast the main event marking World Teachers’ Day in Bethlehem. Several PA officials attended the event (according to Facebook page of the Head of Education in Bethlehem): PA Minister of Education Ali Zaidan (Abu Zuhri), Fatah Central Committee member Tawfiq Tirawi, Advisor to PA Chairman Abbas on NGOs and Member of Fatah Central Committee Sultan Abu Al-Einein, District Governor of Bethlehem Abd Al-Fattah Hamayel and director of the Bethlehem Education Administration Nisreen Yasser Amr. Ahmed Sahwil delivered the speech of the General Union of Palestinian Teachers in the Homeland and Diaspora. In it he compared Palestinian teachers to arch-terrorists: "You are brothers of Salah Khalaf, Abu Jihad and Ahmed Yassin."
Ahmed Sahwil speaking for the General Union of Palestinian Teachers in the Homeland and Diaspora: “Teachers and education community, it is you who gave and daily give the most exalted examples of sacrifice and bravery, for it is you who planted the values of manliness and sacrifice in the soul of the younger generation, and it is you who educated the generation of the first Intifada, the holy generation of stones, and [you educated] the generation of the second Intifada (i.e., PA terror campaign 2000-2005). From Jesus’ birthplace, from the city of peace, I salute you all…
You, teachers of Palestine, are those who deserve only pride, for you are the brothers of Salah Khalaf, the Martyr (Shahid) teacher and his brother, Khalil Al-Wazir, the Martyr teacher, as well as the brothers of Sheikh Ahmed Yassin. These great leaders – you are their brothers and you follow their path.”
