Former PA Minister denies PMW documentation of incitement in textbooks
Knesset (Israeli Parliament) Channel program Head to Head interviewed former PA Minister of Prisoners’ Affairs Ashraf Al-Ajrami.
Former PA Minister of Prisoners’ Affairs Ashraf Al-Ajrami: “The Palestinian Authority textbooks were funded by the European Union that was careful about each and every word in these books. Therefore, I also read a report [published] by a center, it’s called PMW, Palestinian Media Watch, headed by Dr. Itamar Marcus.”
Israeli Parliament Channel host: “Marcus, yes.”
Former PA Minister of Prisoners’ Affairs Ashraf Al-Ajrami: “And he, I responded to everything that was written in his report, and the court –“
Israeli Parliament Channel host: “[Did you] also [respond] to the videos on television? That –“
Former PA Minister of Prisoners’ Affairs Ashraf Al-Ajrami: “Yes, yes, yes, yes, I made a report against him –“
Israeli Parliament Channel host: “[In which] you say this isn’t correct?”
Former PA Minister of Prisoners’ Affairs Ashraf Al-Ajrami: “Not at all correct. I’ll tell you what. This is an exaggeration. If you’re talking about an individual here or there, there is incitement. There is incitement on both sides. I’m not denying that. But when we’re talking about government textbooks, this is not true at all.”
