Photographers arrested for taking pictures of clash between PA Security forces and protesters

“Regarding PA violations [of freedom of press], MADA – the Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms] recorded one violation in the [West] Bank, in which national security personnel and police arrested two photographers from the Raya communications agency, Samer Nazzal and Shadi Hatem, as they were photographing clashes that broke out between [PA] Security Forces and residents of the Jalazone refugee camp. [The clashes erupted] because [the residents] blocked the road leading to Ramallah in protest of the UNRWA workers’ strike that began over forty days ago. This took place on Tuesday, January 14, 2014.”
