Israel's goal is Judaization of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem in preparation for building third Temple

“The Israeli attack on [the] Al-Aqsa [Mosque] has crossed all political lines and is adding fuel to the flames of Palestinian public wrath, in order to ignite political fires and clothe them in religious garb. In addition, it complements and is consistent with the parallel, worrisome trend, that is meant to achieve several objectives, among them: … the exploitation of the Arabs’ present state of weakness in order to advance the process of the Judaization of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in particular and of Jerusalem as a whole, in preparation for the construction of the third Temple on its ruins.”
