One of the libels the Palestinian Authority continuously spreads about Israel and that Palestinian Media Watch has documented is that Israel intentionally distributes drugs in order to harm Palestinians, especially Palestinian youth. Recently, the official spokesman of the PA Security Forces Adnan Al-Damiri reiterated this libel, stating that Israel "has spit up and vomited a shocking amount of drugs onto our land." He explained that the PA had even seized a lab "turning marijuana into heroin." (PMW notes that marijuana cannot be turned into heroin.)

Official spokesman of the PA Security Forces Adnan Al-Damiri: "The challenges facing us... [are] drugs. You don't know how many problems we've had these past two weeks... A shocking amount of drugs that the Israeli occupation has spit up and vomited onto our land. A lab was even made in the Tulkarem District. The lab turning marijuana into heroin has been seized [by the PA]."

The PA official said this at a graduation ceremony in Hebron for members of the Palestinian Security Forces.

Similarly, the Commander of the Narcotics Division in the Jerusalem District Yasser Izzat recently stated that Israel "is stealing the people by destroying them with drugs":

Commander of the Narcotics Division in the Jerusalem District Yasser Izzat: "On the subject of Jerusalem: To tell the truth, Jerusalem is in danger. On the subject of Jerusalem, the occupation has stolen the people - that is, [it] stole the land and now it is stealing the people by destroying them with drugs."
Anonymous youth: "With all the means you can talk about, you won't succeed in stopping this phenomenon [of drugs], because it is certainly supported by the occupation and the occupation supports the entrance of [drugs] into Palestinian land."
PA TV host: "A combined effort is necessary [to solve] this problem and to get rid of it, for it is a great disaster, and it is part of the Israeli occupation, which always targets our youth in order to distract them from the Palestinian issue."
