PA reports Israel may withhold taxes equaling amount given to terrorists

“An Israeli government source confirmed to [Agence] France-Presse that ‘Israel is considering delaying a part of the tax money it transfers to the PA each month, in response to the Palestinians’ unilateral initiatives (i.e., Mahmoud Abbas’ signing of international conventions paving the way for a renewed attempt to gain UN statehood).’ The [Israeli] source, who wished to remain anonymous, added: ‘We believe that the fact that the PA awards large sums of money each month to the Palestinian prisoners and their families constitutes a form of support of terror. Therefore, we are considering withholding from the Palestinians the amount equivalent to that [monthly sum].’”
