Americans fuel crises in Middle East to ensure presence in region
Hafez Barghouti, Editor, official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida:
Headline: “Condoleezza-Stan”
"The current intentional efforts [in the Middle East] are focusing on one or another part of the problem, but not on the matter itself. The Americans are always talented at igniting crises and not solving them. Perhaps they don't want a just solution bringing peace to the region, because the crisis situation allows them to keep their presence in the region, claiming that we need them. They are like these mosquitoes that need a swamp in order to fly above it. The Middle East does not need to be Condoleezza-Stan, but a Salaam-Stan [Peace-Stan]."
