PA daily: Jewish history is a collection of "myths" resurrected by "the fascist right"
Op-ed by Bakr Abu Bakr, columnist for Al-Hayat Al-Jadida
“The Palestinian revolution and the Fatah movement have succeeded – after 50 years of bitter struggle and conflict, which have cost us thousands of Martyrs (Shahids), prisoners and wounded – in refuting some of the Zionist lies…
[The author lists various statements attributed to Zionists or pro-Zionists, such as “A land without a people for a people without a land,” as examples of lies that have been refuted.]
Today, the myths of the Israelis are refuted – [the myths] which Netanyahu and the fascist right are trying to resurrect from the dust of false history, according to which they are an ancient ‘people’ with a ‘land,’ which is Palestine – something the archeologists, as well as the unfettered Israeli thinker Shlomo Sand, have completely rejected.”
Shlomo Sand is an Israeli professor of history who has stated that he does not think Israelis or Jews have a “historical right” to the land.
