Journalist on PA TV: "Israel is a state that seizes opportunities in the style of Shylock"
Official PA TV program Panorama of the Hour hosted journalist Akram Atallah
Akram Atallah: “Israel will continue to search for its settlers (i.e., three kidnapped teens). It will search, and as part of its search it will carry out plans and infiltrations [into regions] where it was previously unjustified [to do so]…”
PA TV host [interrupts him]: “What about the Gaza Strip?”
Akram Atallah: “There was no justification for them [the attacks on Gaza]. Now, there is an opportunity, and Israel will seize it. Israel is a state that seizes opportunities in the style of Shylock, and it knows how to seize opportunities.”
Note: On June 12, 2014, three Israeli teens, Eyal Yifrach, 19, Gilad Shaar, 16, and Naftali Frenkel, 16, were kidnapped while hitchhiking in the West Bank. Israel responded to the kidnapping by conducting house-to-house searches in Hebron and arresting hundreds of Hamas members. The boys' bodies were found by Israeli security forces near Hebron on June 30, 2014. They appeared to have been shot to death soon after the abduction.
