Abbas appoints editor of official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida by presidential decree

“[PA] President Mahmoud Abbas published a presidential decree appointing author Mahmoud Abu Al-Haija Editor-in-Chief of the [official PA daily] Al-Hayat Al-Jadida newspaper. Immediately after receiving the presidential decree, which was published on June 22, Al-Haija expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation of the great trust placed in him by President Mahmoud Abbas. He emphasized that he and his colleagues at the newspaper would work with all their might to live up to the President’s and the leadership’s expectations and to prove themselves worthy of this trust.
He emphasized that Al-Hayat Al-Jadida would continue to work for and to contribute to Palestinian society, and would remain a professional platform expressing our people’s sentiments and aspirations.
It should be noted that Al-Haija has held prominent positions in several media institutions, and that he is a writer and poet.”
