PA TV host hopes for release of rearrested terrorists
Official PA TV report on the Palestinian prisoners released in the Shalit deal who were recently rearrested.
Official PA TV reporter: “The Israeli aggression against our people continues, but the hope for liberating our prisoners still depends on a new exchange deal which is likely to be reached soon.”
Note: In October 2011, the Israeli government agreed to release 1,027 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prison in exchange for Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who had been held hostage by Hamas for more than 5 years. Dozens of the terrorists released in that deal were rearrested in June 2014, following the abduction of Israeli teens Eyal Yifrach, 19, Gilad Shaar, 16, and Naftali Frenkel, 16.
This report was broadcast during the 2014 Gaza war as Hamas was firing thousands of rockets at Israel and as Israel was responding with Operation Protective Edge, which aimed at destroying Hamas' terror infrastructure and ability to launch rockets at Israel.
