Fatah spokesman calls Balfour ‎Declaration “a historical injustice”‎

‎“Fatah spokesman Osama Al-Qawasmi ‎welcomed, in the name of the movement, ‎the vote of the British House of ‎Commons, which overwhelmingly ‎supported recognizing the State of ‎Palestine… Al-Qawasmi explained that ‎‎‘We in Fatah expect the British ‎government in particular to take an ‎important step in this direction, which ‎conforms with international legitimacy, ‎and thereby do justice to the Palestinian ‎people, which has endured a historical ‎injustice since 1917… ’”‎

Note: The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 ‎was a letter from British Foreign Secretary ‎Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that ‎‎“His Majesty's government view with favour ‎the establishment in Palestine of a national ‎home for the Jewish people” and is seen as ‎the basis for later international commitments to ‎establish the State of Israel.‎
