Israel “attempts to erase the real Arab history” in Jerusalem “and replace it with a fake Jewish history which has no roots in this land
Official PA TV report on the opening of the “Second Conference of the National Council for Jerusalem – Eternal Capital of Arab Culture”
Official PA TV reporter: “The conference, which was attended by numerous politicians and clerics, as well as by a group of intellectuals, writers and poets from Jerusalem, issued a warning [regarding] the future of the Holy City, in view of the increase in the attacks of the settler herds on the holy places and their attempts to erase the real Arab history and replace it with a fake Jewish history which has no roots in this land.”
Secretary-General of the Islamic-Christian Council for Jerusalem and the Holy Places Hanna Issa: “We are holding this conference in light of the cultural and educational changes being implemented by the Israeli occupation in Jerusalem, such as the change in the school curriculum, the giving of Jewish – not Arab – street names, the construction of over 9,500 fake graves around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the construction of the Strauss Building, higher than the Al-Aqsa Mosque – all of which come as part of [a plan to create] a new culture for Jerusalem.”
