Israeli-Arab MP subtly threatens violence against Israel
Official PA TV News reported on events in Jerusalem.
Israeli-Arab MP Ahmad Tibi: “This is an explicit blow to the freedom of worship and a declaration of war on all Muslims. We therefore address the person who made this decision (i.e., to deny Muslim worshippers access to Al-Aqsa for a limited period of time) – [Israeli Prime Minister] Benjamin Netanyahu personally: You are playing with fire. It is forbidden to close the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and we are speaking in the name of all Muslims everywhere.”
Note: October and November 2014 was a period of high tension in Jerusalem that included riots in Palestinian areas and numerous terror attacks against Israelis. The riots and attacks were said to be a response to Israel’s “attacks” against Al-Aqsa Mosque.
