PA daily: Israel's goal for Jerusalem is to "Judaize it, expropriate its lands, steal its homes," destroy Al-Aqsa, and build third Temple
Headline: “The closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a dangerous precedent”
Op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for the official PA daily
“The government of [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu carried out a dangerous precedent by closing the Al-Aqsa Mosque to Muslim worshippers for the first time since the occupation of the territories of the State of Palestine on June 4, 1967, using the pretext of the event of the shooting of extremist Rabbi [Yehuda] Glick last Thursday [Oct. 30, 2014]…
This is one of the examples of the Israeli war against Jerusalem, whose goal is to Judaize it, expropriate its lands, steal its homes and its real estate and neighborhoods, to harm the standing of the Islamic and Christian holy sites, and to act for the destruction of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the building of the third Temple in its place.”
Rabbi Yehuda Glick is the Chairman of the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation that works to increase awareness of the central place the Temple Mount and the Temple hold in Jewish heritage through educational activities and by encouraging people to visit the Temple Mount. In addition, he is the coordinator of the LIBA initiative - The Jewish Freedom on the Temple Mount initiative whose goal is to obtain freedom and civil rights for Jews on the Temple Mount. On Oct. 29, 2014, Mutaz Hijazi, an Islamic Jihad member and released prisoner, attempted to assassinate Glick, who was seriously wounded in the attack.
