Fatah: "Prepare to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem" from "Israeli aggression"
“Fatah’s Jenin branch warned of the harm [threatening] the national holy places in general and the Al-Aqsa Mosque in particular. The branch stressed that the movement would not allow the occupation forces to approach Al-Aqsa, and that the occupation’s scheme to divide the Noble Sanctuary (i.e., the Temple Mount) is criminal, and will lead to an explosion in the region and to renewed tension and confrontations. Fatah called on those countries that have recognized the Palestinian state along the June 4 [1967] borders to express their fears and their opposition to what the occupation state is planning. In addition, Mansur Al-Said, the official spokesman of the [Fatah] branch in Jenin, called on our entire people to beware and prepare to defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem, [the latter] being the capital of the State of Palestine, and the [former] being the first direction for Muslim prayer, which has Arab, Islamic and Palestinian status, which the world must take into account. In addition, Fatah published instructions to all its branches in Palestine and abroad to prepare to hold marches and demonstrations against Israel, in the event of any Israeli aggression against Al-Aqsa.”
