Fatah spokesman: Hamas and Israel murdered Arafat

“Fatah spokesman Osama Al-Qawasmi said that recently, media attacks against [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas have increased in severity. On the one hand, Israel is conducting a virulent attack against the President, calling for his removal and considering him its only enemy, and inciter number one… At the same time, Hamas leaders have been aiding it in its attack… and opposing us, in complete coordination with [Israel’s] attack on the President and Fatah. Al-Qawasmi emphasized that the same exact thing had happened with the late Martyr (Shahid) leader Yasser Arafat, whom Hamas had attacked with all its might at every opportunity. Even when he was besieged in the Muqata’a (the PA Presidential Headquarters in Ramallah), and the occupation’s tanks were knocking on his bedroom door, and even when [Ariel] Sharon was calling for his removal, Hamas strove for and trumpeted the same goal. Now, they come and demand to know who Yasser Arafat’s murderers were, and we tell them: ‘All those who profited from the murder of Yasser Arafat are accused. You and Israel were the first ones to profit from [his death], and you should be investigated. You are not in the position to ask questions, because you are accused of conspiracy.’”
