1969 fire in the Al-Aqsa Mosque was Israel’s first step toward destroying the Mosque and Judaizing Jerusalem

Op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, columnist for official PA daily:
“Since the start of the occupation of the territories of the Palestinian state on June 4, 1967, East Jerusalem in general, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque in particular, have played a central role in [Israel’s] Judaization and destruction scheme. The fire [in the Al-Aqsa Mosque] on August 21, 1968 (sic., the fire was in 1969), was nothing other than the beginning of a long, multi-stage process aimed toward arriving at what is being prepared at the present political moment. The Netanyahu government, the 19th Knesset (Israeli Parliament), the Judaizing Zionist organizations and the herds of settlers are systematically acting to divide the Al-Aqsa Mosque according to time and place. in addition, they are acting to lead world public opinion astray [by claiming] that the ‘Jews’ have a right to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and that the so-called Third Temple is ‘located’ in the same place – the site of one of the most important holy places in Islam. Furthermore, they are also acting to prepare world public opinion for the complete destruction of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the annexation of all of East Jerusalem by the Israeli ethnic cleansing state, the advancement of the option of transferring the Palestinians and the derailing of the two-state solution according to the June 4, 1967 borders.”

Notes: The fire in the Al-Aqsa Mosque – In 1969, Michael Rohan, a deranged Australian Christian, set fire to the Al-Aqsa Mosque. For years, the Palestinian Authority has falsely accused Israel of setting the fire.
The physical division and division according to time refers to a proposed law (May 2013) being reviewed in Israeli Parliament that would allow for both Jews and Muslims to pray on the Temple Mount. The law seeks to implement separate prayer times for Muslims and Jews at the site.
