PA news agency glorifies violent protestor glorified as a Martyr and claims he was “killed in cold blood”

“Mahmoud Abdallah Adwan, 21, died a Martyrdom-death early this morning, Tuesday [Dec. 16, 2014] during a confrontation with the occupation forces at the Qalandiya refugee camp in the Jerusalem district. Local sources clarified that the occupation forces had invaded the refugee camp, and that confrontations broke out between them and the residents, during which Adwan suffered a bullet wound to the head… In a statement to the press, a copy of which was obtained by WAFA, Fatah’s Jerusalem branch announced the death of the Martyr (Shahid) of the Qalandiya refugee camp north of Jerusalem, Mahmoud Abdallah Adwan, 21, [who was killed] by occupation forces gunfire early this morning.
The statement read: ‘With great pride and honor… we announce to our people the Martyrdom-death of Mahmoud Abdallah Adwan, who was killed in cold blood by the occupation forces early this morning in the Qalandiya refugee camp… Today’s Martyr, and all the Martyrs of Fatah and the Palestinian people, are fuel [to the flames] and, through their sacrifices, [they] light up the path to freedom for us, and trace the path to return and independence.’”

Note: Mahmoud Abdallah Adwan was killed on Dec. 16, 2014 in Qalandiya in the West Bank during a confrontation with Israeli army forces in which dozens of Palestinians approached the soldiers, fired at them and threw bricks and explosives at them. According to the Israeli army spokesman, Adwan was shot by the forces after throwing explosives at them.
