PA daily: Israel "exploits the Holocaust as a means of blackmailing the West and the world"
“Today, the powers find themselves faced with the commitment to establish a Palestinian state, after the failure of the plans of the Zionist movement and the colonialist powers to cancel Palestine and remove it from the map. After the failure of all of Israel’s attempts, the negotiations and the peace initiatives, from the Nakba (i.e., ‘the catastrophe,’ Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) to the present day, it has become clear that the world is tending towards a forced solution that will ensure the establishment of the State of Palestine, even if this means entering into limited confrontation with Israeli policy. What this indicates is that Israel has exhausted its exploitation of the Holocaust as a means of blackmailing the West and the world, and that there is a growing contradiction between Israel’s current policies regarding the region and the [Palestinian] cause, and the West’s interests and Middle East strategy…
The Palestinians refused to accept the partition of their country, as it constituted an unprecedented historical injustice, as the sections of the resolution show. The Jews, most of whom were new settlers in Palestine, were “granted” 55.5% of the territory of Palestine, even though they represented less than one third of the population and owned only 7% of the territory of Palestine, while the Palestinians, who represented over two thirds of the population, received 44.5% of their lands, which they had owned and on which they had lived for centuries…
