Christian population in Gaza in decline due to emigration

“The [Latin] Patriarch of Jerusalem and the Latin Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church] in Jerusalem and the Holy Lands, Fouad Twal, said that the number of Christians in the Gaza Strip is decreasing from year to year due to the difficult situation they are in, including the Israeli siege and the crises afflicting the Gaza Strip, which have caused many of them to emigrate… Patriarch Twal… said: ‘A few years ago there were 5,000 of us; that number then dropped to 4,000, less and less [people], and at present, we number no more than 1,500.’”
