Commission of Prisoners’ and Released Prisoners’ Affairs: 6,500 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons

“According to the official Palestinian statistics of the Commission of Prisoners’ and Released Prisoners' Affairs, approximately 35% of the prisoners are married. The Al-Damir organization for prisoners’ rights noted that there are 6,500 Palestinian prisoners, serving various sentences in the occupation prisons. They include 478 prisoners sentenced for life, 463 prisoners sentenced to over 20 years in prison, 15 prisoners who have served over 25 years, 30 who have served over 20 years, and 30 who were arrested before the Oslo Accords.”
