Fatah praises its use of “all forms of resistance according to the national interests” (i.e., including violence)

“Fatah’s Supreme Leadership Council in the Gaza Strip published a message on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the launch of the modern Palestinian revolution… In a statement published by the Supreme Leadership’s information department, Supreme Leadership Council member and Fatah spokesman in the Gaza Strip Dr. Hassan Ahmad… emphasized that ‘Fatah has made [great] national achievements over the 50 years of its [existence]… by using all forms of resistance according to the national interests. The idea of peaceful popular resistance – the path of resistance Fatah established to [oppose] the occupation’s policy in the field of confrontation – is nothing but an example of the invention of creative methods in addition to all forms of resistance to the occupation and its actions.’”
