PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas: “The most serious thing from what I mentioned before is the methodical plan that the Israeli government is carrying out to change Jerusalem’s identity and to make things difficult for its residents. Here I warn of all the plans to change the status quo of the last 67 years in Jerusalem, and especially at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This constitutes a threat, as you know, to turn the political and national conflict between us and the Israelis into a religious conflict. This is something we do not want and we warn against it.”
