PA embassy regards terrorist Laila Khaled as a “friend” and condemns the cancellation of her visit
Headline: “The embassy in Pretoria condemned the Popular Front’s forced inclusion of its name into the statement on Laila Khaled’s visit”
“The embassy of the State of Palestine in South Africa condemned the statement published by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine on Thursday [Jan. 15, 2015] on the subject of the visit of fighter Laila Khaled to South Africa this coming February… The embassy said that ‘the attack of the Zionist lobby in South Africa on the fighter Laila Khaled and its condemnation of her expected visit to South Africa are inseparable from the attack directed by that same group against the Palestinian leadership and its leader, Mahmoud Abbas.’ The statement continued: ‘The irresponsible forced inclusion of the embassy’s name [by the PFLP], as it appeared in the statement, and its [PFLP’s] accusation of having remained silent in face of this unjust Zionist media campaign against the visit of our friend Laila Khaled, is astonishing, since the embassy is one of the original partners in arranging this visit, together with the world solidarity committees for the Palestinian people.’”
