PA daily op-ed: The US “supports the terrorism in Egypt” and its “aim” is “to destroy Egypt”
Op-ed by Hafez Al-Barghouti, regular columnist for Al-Hayat Al-Jadida
“It is no longer a secret that there is clear American support behind the terrorism in Egypt, by way of two supporting proxies – Qatar and Turkey, who have adopted the international Muslim Brotherhood organization. Although the so-called ‘[Ansar] Bait Al-Maqdis’ organization has declared its allegiance to IS, the Americans are still relying on it to undermine stability in Egypt, while in Iraq and Syria, they are fighting it using alternatives no less barbaric than it [itself], such as the Shi’ite sectarian militias in Iraq. This is because the aim is to destroy Egypt and inflict losses on the Egyptian army…
Those who repeatedly deny the existence of a scheme are collaborating with it – for it is inconceivable that, for example, attacks in Sinai should occur immediately after a Shi’ite mosque in Pakistan, a market in Baghdad and cities in Yemen, Libya and Syria were attacked, without [there being] any connection between [the attacks].
What is happening has nothing to do with Islam, but rather with devilish and demonic acts. The stage manager, the planner of all this destruction attempts to portray Islam as a barbaric religion, while [his] collaborators, the mercenaries, the apostates and the hypocrites are the ones doing all this in the name of Islam, which is innocent of their [actions].”
