Fatah official warns of Israel’s “Judaization policy” and “theft of [Palestinian] cultural heritage” in Jerusalem
Headline: “Fatah: The transformation of the New Gate into an Israeli tourist area represents an additional aspect of [Israel’s] Judaization policy
“In a statement published today, Fatah’s official spokesman in Jerusalem, Raafat Alayan, said that the Israeli occupation’s announcement of the plan to turn the New Gate [of the Old City] into a tourist and commercial area was part of the strengthening of the Judaization policy and the theft of the [Palestinian] cultural heritage… Alayan called on the international community in general, and on the World Heritage Committee in particular, to act immediately towards stopping this crime, which constitutes one in a series of steps with which the occupation authorities are striving, one by one, to extend their control over the Old City and to cut it off from its surroundings, in order to arrive, in the end, at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, to revive their myth of the existence of the alleged Temple.”
