In Friday's sermon on official Palestinian Authority TV, the cleric demonized Jews as "apes and pigs."
"Many Muslims are being harmed these days by a group whose hearts were sealed by Allah. 'He made of them [Jews] apes and pigs and slaves of deities' (Quran, 5:60). They are harming the livelihood of the believers [Muslims]... They withhold their [the Palestinians'] money and collect interest on it."

Click to viewA few months ago, a Palestinian youth recited a poem on official PA TV, also demonizing Jews as apes and pigs, as Palestinian Media Watch reported:
"You have been condemned to humiliation and hardship
O Sons of Zion, O most evil among creations
O barbaric apes, O wretched pigs"

The Quran in three places (Suras 2:65, 5:60, and 7:166) tells of Allah turning Jews into apes and/or pigs. In one place, it is explicitly about Jews:
"And you had already known about those who transgressed among you concerning the Sabbath, and We said to them, 'Be apes, despised.'" (Sura 2:65, Sahih International translation)

See special section on PMW's website.In Friday's sermon, the cleric also said that Jews' "hearts were sealed by Allah." Attributing this expression to Jews is likewise religious hate speech based on the Quran (Surah 2:7). Significantly, in the Quran the verse does not refer to Jews but to non-believers, and teaches that certain non-believers cannot improve because Allah has "sealed" their evil nature.
"Indeed, those who disbelieve - it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe. Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. And for them is a great punishment." (2:6- 2:7)
By applying this verse to the Jews, the PA cleric is saying that it is the Jews who have an evil nature that is "sealed" and cannot improve, and therefore are destined for "great punishment."The PA's Islam-based Antisemitism, presenting Jews as eternally evil, together with defining Jews as enemies of Allah, cursed by Allah, apes and pigs, has been used by the PA to justify murder and even genocide of Jews, as the PA Mufti did at a Fatah celebration.
Palestinian Fatah leader Abbas Zaki likewise used religious hatred to promote killing Jews.
"These Israelis have no belief, no principles. They are an advanced instrument of evil... Therefore, I believe that Allah, will gather them so we can kill them. I am informing the murderer of his death."
