Farmer on PA TV emphasizes that Israel is “illegal” and all the land belongs to Palestinians
Official PA TV reporter: “In the words of this 70 year-old farmer from [the West Bank village of] Qaryut, the day will come that will emphasize the fact that they [Palestinian farmers] are worthy of their land and of continuing to work it, despite the threats of the foreigners who embrace the logic of power instead of the power of logic.”
Farmer: “This occupation was completely illegal from the very beginning, since the occupation of Palestine in 1948, or from the Balfour Declaration and that of Herzl before him. This is our land and it will stay that way even in a million years. We may not have weapons at present, and we may only be fighting [with] our land, our rights and our hands, but our right [to the land] will be there for us until the hour (i.e., Judgment Day) comes.”
Note: The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that “His Majesty's government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people” and is seen as the basis for later international commitments to establish the State of Israel.
