PLO official condemns "invasion" of Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza and decries "the fable and myth of the Temple"
Headline: Qurei condemned the fact that the occupation authorities leveled lands in Issawiya, and the invasions of the Al-Aqsa Mosque"
"PLO Executive Committee member and Head of the Department for Jerusalem Affairs Ahmed Qurei… condemned the invasion of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza (i.e., Temple Mount) through the Mughrabi Gate by the Jewish organization Students for the Temple, with increased protection by the Israeli occupation police. Likewise, he condemned the fact that some of them carried signs on which were drawn parts of the alleged Temple and that they gave explanations about the fable and myth of the Temple."
The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.
