Terrorist responsible for killing 37 glorified on Palestinian TV as “hero and commander”
Fatah-run Awdah TV program The Story of a Photograph hosted Fatah Revolutionary Council member Muwaffaq Matar.
Awdah TV host: “Of course, we put the spotlight on new photographs as well as old ones, new photographs at the [right] time and old photographs in the right place and at the right time. For example, no one would have believed that this baby, this toddler in her mother’s arms, is the one that would become the hero and commander Dalal Mughrabi.
During the Kamal Adwan operation (i.e., bus hijacking and killing of 37) in the 1970’s, she declared [the birth of] the Republic of Palestine, on the occupied seashore of Palestine. She commanded an operation with 12 self-sacrificing fighters (Fedayeen). It was a heroic operation, studied in the military academies until this day. Who would have imagined that the man in this photograph, the father of this toddler, would be the father of the hero and commander, Martyr Dalal Mughrabi?”
Notes: Dalal Mughrabi led the most lethal terror attack in Israel’s history, known as the Coastal Road massacre, in 1978, when she and other Fatah terrorists hijacked a bus on Israel's Coastal Highway, killing 37 civilians, 12 of them children, and wounding over 70.
